Barkley!

About Barkley:
This is my big happy black lab, Barkley! He has been a huge part of my life for 9 years now! He was born on Christmas. Although his age is getting up there he still acts like a big puppy! Barkley is a gentle giant. Everyones reaction when seeing him is "He's HUGE!" and he is! Although huge, Barkley is a big baby! He wouldn't hurt a fly...in fact he is terrified of flies! This dog is scared of many things such as car rides, baths or water in general, flies, stairs, vacuums and many more things. I wouldn't have him any other way though. He is super nice and friendly. He loves greeting everyone that walks into the house, but people who don't know him might be a little terrified at first because of his large size and big bark! Barkley is a very lazy dog and loves scraps and frisbees. This dog is like a goat, there is nothing he will not eat! Barkley is my best friend and don't know what I would do without him.
Back Story:
Before getting Barkley I was terrified of dogs! If you asked me back then if I would ever consider having a pet dog I would have said no way! I came home from school one day and my parents told me to go look in the living room. As I ran to the living room hoping for something amazing I see a tiny black dog sleeping on the floor. I screamed and jumped on to a counter top so he couldn't get me. HE WAS SLEEPING! Barkley was a very lazy puppy and spent most of his time asleep yet I was still frightened by him. It took me sometime to warm up to Barkley, I never actually got to hold him in my arms during his puppy years because I was so scared of him, something I defiantly regret. But because of Barkley I was able to get over my fears of dogs and now I love every dog I see and want to go pet them all and have them all as my own!

Poem: Hi, I'm Society.

Background:  This poem is what started everything off for me. My senior year of high school I was approached by my creative writing teacher asking me to produce a piece of writing to be entered into a contest. This writing could have been a long or short story any type of poem. To be honest I wasn't to fond of the idea. I knew I was a good writer but for a contest? I told her I would think about it. Tattoos.

This was my first tattoo ever! I got it done at Timeless Tattoos in Appleton WI. in the mall. This place did such an amazing job! My tattoo artist was able to draw this up in one try I was very impressed! I also loved this place because they accept walk ins. Defiantly would recommend this place. Once I turned 18 I was determined to get a tattoo. My mom also got one with me which I was kind enough to pay for her. I was super nervous but at the same time I knew I could do it because I have a very high pain tolerance. I also thought for my first tattoo why not go big! GO BIG OR GO HOME! I did not think having this done hurt at all. I was very relaxed the whole time! My dad was not to happy about it because he thought it was too big and I would never score a job as a teacher. But in todays world who doesn't have tattoos! We learn how to work around them. They are quite easy to cover up with make-up or long sleeves. He got over it and thinks its a very nice tattoo! A little about myself... My name is Melanie Flasch and I'm 19 years old. I am a proud halloween baby. I live in a very small town in Wisconsin, born and raised. I have an amazing mom and dad who support me and all my dreams and passions. I am also an older sister to a sassy 13 year old named Natalie. Although we may not agree on some things quite often, she is my sister and I love her. I have the cutest puppies, Barkley, who is a 9 year old black lab and our newest member Bo, who is a yellow lab that we just got December 30th, 2017.
